Sattya Body

I am aware, that the conglomeration of what SattyaBody encompasses may be seen by many as being 'new age-y". I am aware
Indeed, it is actually my intention that this NOT be a new-age-y revolution, and that SattyaBody represent a more grounded, embodied vehicle for transformation among women. One that actually re-connects us to our OLD age, our ancient indigenous wisdom, and our grounded, earth-based tribal cultures. Remembering where we came from, and re-defining the sacred feminine for how it serves in us today. I would argue, however, that it is, indeed, a New Age that we are stepping into, an emerging re-evolution --if you will--of what we consider 'health' and 'healthy'-- in ourselves, our communities, and our world. An awakening within our own bodies, a connection back to our own power and fierceness as women, and a sense of embodied consciousness, and spiritualty in and through the body, as opposed to being separate from the body, or void of body. (Remember, it really is just in the last 30 years that women's equality and empowerment began to emerge in this country! And look at us today!) And it is from there, only from there--this connection to our own core, power, and fierceness--that we can each shine in fullness to do our 'thang' in this world. I want to encourage everyone to take up space! Shake it! Be BIG. Be strong. Be soft. Be real. Express what lives deepest within you. Feel your heart's yearning. Then dance it! Feel your feet on the ground, and your breath in your belly...... The implications of empowering women across the globe back into their bodies and their own somatic truths, empowering us all to raise our voices, to join together in support and solidarity, to share resources and share stories.... The implications of all of this run wide and deep! Towards creating peace on this planet. Stopping wars, healing families, creating stronger community and support for the raising of our children, and ushering in a more feminine kind of leadership and power,---a co-creative, communal way of being, a global 'banjar,' if you will; a more sustainable and thrive-able planet. For, reconnecting to the divine feminine means re-connecting to source, to spirit, to our Mamma Earth. It is the Yoga of it all. To drop into our sensory nature, and the flesh and bones of our bodies through movement, we feel more connected to the Earth. And when we feel more connected to the Earth, then we treat her with respect, and become pro-active in keeping the Earth healthy. It's that simple. And that real. For me, embodied practices such as yoga, massage, bellydance, etc. are what taps me back in to all of that. New age-y? nahhhhhhhhh. Au contraire! For me, all of this that SattyaBody stands for and encompasses is, well, T'is some of the most real, most grounded, most embodied and health-promoting things I know. And i'm so grateful for them in my life. But don't take my word for it, try for yourself! and then let me know. Share your story. Here in this posting. How do you feel after taking a yoga class? How do you feel--in mind and body--after bellydancing for an hour? Or after meditating? Going for a hike? What do you do that keeps you feeling 'healthy'? I invite the stories. I invite the truths. And i say cheers! to a New Age of Non-new age-y-ness. :)
